AFS Global Affiliate Sri Lanka Turns 4 – Where Generations of Global Citizens Meet

A Special Anniversary with a Special Guest

AFS Global Affiliate Sri Lanka celebrated it’s 4th anniversary on 11th of December 2025, marking four years of empowering Sri Lankan youth through global learning and intercultural experiences. To make this milestone even more special, we were honored to welcome Mr. Sunil Jinadasa, an AFS scholar from the 1974–1975 USA program, along with his family. His visit was a meaningful reminder of AFS’s long-standing legacy and the lifelong impact our programs continue to create. To honor his visit, we presented Mr. Sunil Jinadasa with a special gift, including an appreciation certificate, a symbolic AFS badge, and a list of his 1974-1975 batchmates. He was deeply touched and delighted, making this anniversary celebration even more meaningful.

1st Gen Meets 2nd Gen

In a truly historic moment for AFS Global Affiliate Sri Lanka, the first generation of AFS returnees – Dr. Eshantha Ariyadasa and Mr. Sunil Jinadasa – connected with the second generation, represented by Vidasaha Induranpitiya and Nethara Ariyadasa. This rare cross-generation meeting showcased the strength of the AFS community in Sri Lanka, uniting decades of global experiences, shared values, and the passion to build a more connected world.
